CLASSIC ROCK MAGAZINE REVIEW BY HENRY YATES JULY 2009
Robin Hoare’s press release makes the rather odd claim that his “A Time and Place” album is favoured by hi-fi salesmen to demonstrate their wares. Maybe so, but on a decrepit Sony ghetto blaster it’s the punch of his songwriting that shines through. With funk and soul flavours creeping into his material, Hoare is not a traditional bluesman, but then the best ones never are.
Thanks very much Mr Yates! :)
